Because you have not earned any money recently?

Hello Olger,
This is the same issue that I had about a month ago. So, here is the problem with it, if an established freelancer doesn't earn money on Upwork for 30 days, their profile visibility will automatically change to private. Private profiles are not shown in search and will not be seen by clients unless you submit a proposal to their job.
They are doing this to help clients improve their searches and to find more active freelancers. Also to protect clients and freelancers from off-platform, which is against Upwork Terms of Service.
So this is the main reason that Upwork has changed it to ''private''.
Hope this helped.
Thanks and all the best to you in your work!

Hi Olger,
If you have not earned any funds in the last 30 days your visibility will be changed to provide. If you earn any funds and when they become available to you the time frame will be reset. Thank you.

Well, my profile has changed to private.
I know the reasons why this happens (it had already happened to me) and how it returns to the public. This isn't the reason for this message.
What makes me angry is that, in the mail I received, the reason why this has happened (and it is the first sentence that appears) is:
"We noticed you have not been working through Upwork lately"
I'm working on Upwork and you can check for the messages.
I already find it quite stupid to change the profiles to private so that, in addition, it is done for a "deceptive" reason.
If it's because you have not moved money on the platform during the last month, say it clearly!!

Hi Maria,
Thank you for your feedback, I will share this with our product managers for an additional review.
I've also changed your profile visibility back to public, if you need further help let me know. Thank you.

Hi Goran,
I was not really looking for a "shortcut" for my profile to be changed to "public", I just wanted to complain for the reason that was used in the message.
Anyway, thanks.
And yes, please, communicate to whoever is responsible, that the messages must be clear with what they want to communicate.
And not only for the "veracity", but because there are many people here for whom English is not their language and you should try to make everything as clear and easy to understand as possible.
That avoids many confusions and many questions.

To make it clear.... (my native language is Spanish) ... Pay a Basic Membership $10/month and your profile will never turn to private...

Hola Debora 🙂
I know how the theme of the profiles changed to "private" works.
It is a subject that does not influence me too much because, in reality, I do not receive too many invitations, for better or for worse.
What I am commenting here, is not the stupid subject of the change to "private" (of what has been talked about long and hard), but the "deceptive" way in which they communicate this fact to you.
They tell you that they have noticed that "you have not worked at Upwork lately", when what they mean is that "you have not moved money through Upwork lately".
And to be more exact, they should say "this last month" not "lately"
All this generates confusion.
Espero que te vaya muy bien aquí. Es duro, pero se puede conseguir!

I think I must have missed something. The help article explains about the rising talent program. The OP was asking why his profile had been set to private.
