My contract is on temporarily hold

Hi everyone, 

 

I worked with my client on one fixed price job and we finished everything. Then he wanted me to work more on same contract and he said he will pay thrue the "bonus method". So he added new milestone whitch was founded and i accepted it and submited my work and requested payment. Money was showen in the "work in progress section". 

 

After that, it was Friday, and i got e-mail from Up Work that my contract is temporarily on hold. So when i now go to "my jobs" it says that contract is ended and i have options to give feedback and also to refund last milestone.

 

I am new to Up Work, and i will highly appreciate any help. 

 

What should i do and will i get payed ? 

My client have verified payment method.

Hello Milan.


for cases similar to this, in the future, you can propose your clients to open a new project. UpWork allows you as the freelancer to propose a client a new contract after you end one with that client.

 

As for the money situation, they should be listed in your overview as miscellaneous payment.

If the client has a verified payment, at a point you will see a date when that payment will be available to you.

Hi Milan,

I just checked your contract and can confirm that you were paid for the milestone created for you. Keep in mind that bonus payments are not covered under our Upwork Payment Protection.
You should always make sure that the full agreed amount is funded on your milestone, in this case you will be eligible for our Fixed-Price Protection for Freelancers.

Hey Goran, thanks for your fast response, actually this help me a lot, especially article about Fixed - Price Protection. But my money isn't showen anywere in "Work In Progress" , "In Review" or "Pending Section", i can see it only here (attached picture).

Are you talking about the 30 Paid or the 60 agreed?

30 was released to you? Were the next 30 funded in Escrow?

Yes, exactly like that. 30 was the first milestone that is finished, and then problem began with second milestone (also 30).

 Was the second milestone actually FUNDED (in Escrow??)

 And the remaining $ 30 are nowhere? Not under "in review" or "Pending" on your Reports Overview?

 

If not, there is a chance your client used a payment method that wasn't quite kosher and the funds had to be reversed back.

 

But check your Reports Overview first.

Nowhere, just in section shown in the picture i attached. What should i do ? Should i refound client or just to wait ?

 What do you mean, "refund the client??"

Really all you can do is wait, unfortunately. But it is odd that you sound sure that the second $ 30 were funded... Usually if something is reversed you get notified!

AH - Upwork cancelled the milestone 8 days ago, so client clearly was up to no good...

Actually upwork canceled the milestone not the clinet.
