I filed a dispute over 15 days ago and initially also, the dispute specialist **edited for Community Guidelines** took over 14 days to reply. Then the reply was sent was from another specialist, **edited for Community Guidelines** who give gave me 3 options and I replied that I am ready to use one of the options.
Now on 22nd I got a reply from **edited for Community Guidelines** who now stated that the client does not accept the option and last date to file dispute is the 24th.
The same day the client had a long discussion with me and finally agreed on a partial payment so we can close the matter.
I have written numerous mails to the dispute specialist with screenshots of the client's message and discussion with me on UpWork on the partial payment agreement.
The dispute specialist **edited for Community Guidelines** has not replied in the last 2 days and today is the last day for me to file for arbitration.
What can I do, I wanted to resolve the matter with a partial payment option the client finally agreed to, cut my loses and move on but due to the failure of the dispute to reply and take action on the agreement I negotiated with the client, I will be forced to file for arbitration by the end of the day.
Can anyone help, any forum moderator or UpWork staff ask the dispute specialist to please take action and resolve the matter instead of forcing me to file for arbitration?
I went ahead and followed this up with the Disputes Team so that they can review your case and advise on the next steps. Please expect someone from the team to get in touch with you via the open ticket to help resolve this dispute.
Hi Avery, I am still waiting for the dispute specialist to reply but there has been no communication at all. The day is going by and I will be forced to file for arbitration if there is no reply on time finally.
I really wanted to resolve the matter and move on but I am in a fix because of this no communication scenario for the last 2 days, please help me and remind the dispute team to reply.
I agree with you Preston, it is a waste of energy and valuable time but the sum involved was a bit large and I had put in a lot of work. If it was below $600 I would have simply cut my loses and moved on. All this back and forth with the dispute specialist and the client is really exhausting!
