Both your 2 last clients marked you down for quality and skills. That's why.

Please can you elaborate more? Bad quality? I did a bad job?

Thanks.

I have no idea, but the clients both gave you 5 stars for everything apart from the all-important categories "Skills" and "Quality" - 4 is not "bad" quality, but there was something about your skills and the quality of your work that stopped two clients in a row from giving you full marks.

Generally the Rising Talent badge vanishes when any feedback (private and public) isn't great.

Hi Petra,

I'm in a similar sitiuation. My last contract ended 4.35, not 5 stars. I also have one that closed automatically. I also expect one that will end bad. How can I see how many stars I receive by category (not summed up)? How can I remove a bad score from my JSS?

 1) That is not necessarily a problem, depending on the private feedback. 4.35 is not bad feedback per se.

2) What do you mean "closed automatically?" - Without payment? That is bad. How did that happen?

3) That is unfortunate.

4) Click on the contract on your profile

5) You can't. You don't have a JSS yet but possibly will on Sunday (or after another 1-2 contracts)

Once you are top rated you can remove one contract from your JSS calculation every 3 months and 10 contracts.

Thank you, Petra,

2) What do you mean "closed automatically?" - Without payment? That is bad. How did that happen?

14 days passed and money autoreleased today, but actially it says Milestone approved, not contract ended.

       What shall I do here?

3) That is unfortunate.

Yes, every 14 days he request changes, just not to release the money. How many times can a client do that?

 2) Then the contract is not ended or closed, just leave it be for the time being.  Do nothing. Nothing to worry about.

3) Stop playing his game. Resubmit and tell him that this was the final revision you are able to accept and that if he wants any further changes you will be happy to oblige if he closes the current contract after approving the milestone and hires you on an hourly contract. That way he can have (and pay for) as many changes as his heart desires because you will track the time. If he requests changes again, contact Support and initiate a dispute.

Can i get it back up? Or when do you think am getting a jss.

Thanks.

Once the RT badge is gone, it's gone. You'll get a JSS after 5-6 completed (!) contracts, usually, sometimes after 4. I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry because whatever knocked you out of the RT program will also affect your JSS.

So he hit the request changes button today again (for the second time). We are in a contract since October 23, he received the designs on the 24th. He paid $60 for the first 2 milestones and unwillingly assigned the last milestone, by changing my proposal. On Nov 8 he appeared from nowhere and requested changes with a message: "Lets work on this today and I'll release the payment". I made the changes and submitted. He then requested all working files for the project. I uploaded all files and asked if he will released the payment. He didn't. Today Nov 22 he hit the button again with this message: "Pending Revision. Will discuss today"

I'm really tired of this. Please help

How many rounds of revisions did you specify originally?

I'd tell him that you have now made changes x times, and that any further changes will require a new contract, on an hourly basis.

If he doesn't get his act together, contact Support and dispute.

He hits the request changes button for the second time. I guess this counts for 2. We never talked about how many revisions I agree to make. The job was called "**Edited for Community Guidelines**", it was supposed to end on the the next day.
Last time he copied a long message from his client and I managed to make some changes. This time he just says: will discuss today. I will of course wait to see his next step, but I'm afraid to answer him anything. And if I don't message him today would it be considered as I refuse to make the changes

This will always be the problem when you work with people who farm out their own work.

Wait until later today and see what happens, then (if nothing happens) hit the "Submit" button again and file a dispute.

Thank you, Petra

Exactly how long should I wait? It's been 12 hours from his message, is it good to wait until tomorrow or not?

What should I submit - the latest files that I sent 2 weeks ago?

How do I file I disput - is there a button or something?

 1) I would wait until the morning.

2) yes, with a note that any further changes or requests will require the release of the current milestone and are subject to further charges.

3) Nope, you'd have to contact Support.

Thank you, Petra,

I will wait until tomorrow. In the meantime my RT dissappeared Smiley Sad

Hi Petra,

a day passed and nothing happened. I will now submit the old files like you adviced but I'm a little afraid of the disput. I have read here in the community posts that this is the last thing a designer should do.

So what will happen if I submit the files and just wait another 14 days?

Or if I message the client that I will contact support if he doesn't release the money? He will then give me a bad feedback and asks for refund maybe.

Or the only solution in this case is to go to disput.

Would it matter that he changed the milestone from DESIGN to REVISION for the disput?

Thank you

Presumably, on day 14 he will press the "request changes" button again. You have 3 choices:

  • You can play that game until the three months are up and the contract auto-closes, then the money goes back to the client unless you dispute
  • You can cut your losses and close the contract (the money in Escrow goes back to the client)
  • You can get a bit assertive and tell the client that he has what you were contracted to provide and you will not entertain any further revisions, if he wants further changes he'll have to release the current milestone, and hire you on an hourly contract, then he can have all the changes his heart desires, as you will be billing for your time.

OK,

So I will resubmit now and send him the note you advice, and wait to see his answer?

What are my losses if I file a disput today?

 1) OK. Be friendly and professional, but firm.

2) Well, there is $ 60 in Escrow. My guess would be that the client may not even respond to the dispute. Your "losses" are time and potentially not getting the $ 60 after all was said and done but that would require the client to play along in the dispute. If the client ignores the dispute the Escrow funds are eventually released to you. Personally I think you have a chancer on your hands who is trying to get away with not paying by irritating you sufficiently to make you cut your losses and just end the contract, which will result in him getting the work for what he paid on milestone one.

Thanks for the clarity.

Can i get it back up? Or when do you think am getting a jss.

Thanks.
