My upwork desktop app doesn't work at all

i tried everything. redownloading, reinstalling, restarting my pc and reinstalling.. it shows an error before even opening. i'll attach a screenshot of what it shows

I have the same problem. The login screen appears and I wait forever for the app to start (and it doesn't!)

Hi,

 

Hoping you can help me. My app won't even let me go to the part where I can put in my login. The screenshot I attached is the last thing I get then when I hit Got It, it does nothing. Tried uninstall then reinstall but nothing helped.

Hi Marco, 


Did you log in with your Google Credentials? If so, please log in to your account through a browser. Please visit the Connected Services page in the Settings page, and disassociate your Google account from your Upwork account. Once done, please try logging int to your Upwork Desktop app to see if the issue persists.

Yes thanks! disconnecting google sign in solved my problem!

Please go to Settings > Connected Services > and remove your Google account. Once you`ve done this, try to log in with your username or email. Thank you.

I am having the same problem... only the "Got it" i got and nothing else.... what happened? I tried, installing, uninstalling... restarted my laptop 5 times... I even downloaded the other versions... 32bit... but it works the same... It doesn't work like that before.

Login to upwork at their website then go yo settings and disconnect the google linked account, then reopen the app it will start working.

Hi,

 

I also have the same problem. It used to run smoothly, then all of a sudden it wouldn't even launch the window. 

 

I have also tried re-downloading, re-installing, and restarting my computer after the install already. I have attached the screenshot that it only shows the start window then nothing else.

Hi Avery,

I am facing an issue opening my upwork desktop app.I have tried reinstalling it twice but that does'nt solve my issue.When I download it and open the application I see "loading Upwork v.5.3.3.883" and then it closes thats it! I have been facing this problem since yesterday

Hi Avery,

 

I run on a Mac and this was what I did to fix this issue: I clicked on the UpWork icon on the top status bar near the wifi icon (please see UpWork on Status Bar image) and clicked on 'Open Timer' and 'Open Messages'. It opened my UpWork Desktop App windows, so it did the trick for me.

 

If you run on Windows, try to see if right-clicking on the icon in the task bar will also give you the same option (please see UpWork Options image).
