Need an explanation about milestone

Hey to everyone. As being a new here I don’t understand system of milestones. It is like a currency of website ? Can I transfer these milestones to my card or no ? How I can use them ?

No. A milestone is work you do. The client hires you on a fixed rate contract and funds the first milestone, which can be part or all of the work you agreed to complete. The money for that work is in escrow.

When you have completed the work, you submit the work for payment against that milestone. The client can then check your work and release the funds to you.
