No Contract, Enterprise Client

Hi,

I am wondering how does the enterprise client send me payment through purchase order via upwork? There is no contract created. I've met them face to face in their office. I just want to clarify how does the purchase order work and how can I receive payment from the client?

I've read about it here: https://support.upwork.com/hc/en-us/articles/211068198-Add-PO-Numbers-to-Invoices

But unsure if it can directly send the payment to me as the freelancer. They already provided a purchase order number.

Your client needs to send you an offer, which you accept, which makes it possible for you to receive a payment through upwork. Any circumvention which causes upwork not to receive a fee is forbidden and will result in suspension of your profile.

There is no contract, and the job is already completed. I think upwork will still have the 20% fee from that, I just want to know how is that possible to send me directly from their client account to my freelancer account with Upwork's purchase order.  I received bonus from clients before, where the contract is already closed, from client to my account. Now, I want to know how does the purchase order from enterprise client to my freelancer work?

I know they may need to open a contract, but I already told them that. And, they said they already made a purchase order, which is what I want to clarify.

The thing is, I have worked with them face to face in their office for a video. And since they are enterprise client here on upwork, where we first communicated, I asked them to make a contract and was expecting them to be experienced, but they said they can just make a purchase order via upwork to pay me.

Hi Bemmygail,

Could you please send me more details via PM(click on my name) so that I can check the details and advise you accordingly? Thank you.

Is this an **Upwork** Enterprise client? (Rather than someone saying they are...) You can see that on the original job post - whether it has the blue Enterprise icon and says "Enterprise Client"

There is never EVER any way for a client to pay you (without both you and the client being in violation of Upwork's terms of Service) without a contract, either directly via Upwork or through Upwork Payrolled Services.

You should not have done any work at all before you had a contract.
