Hi,
I want to get rid of a client, but to do that I need to close the ongoing contract. However, I don't want to leave any feedback. Is this still an option?

That has never been an option on Upwork (or oDesk)
The party who closes the contract has to leave feedback to do so. This has always been the case.

I will leave polite bad feeback. This way, he will learn from his mistakes and will hopefully behave better in the future. He's playing me anyway.

Nobody is required to leave written feedback. You can leave the free form text field blank.
