No notifications on desktop

Hi there. For the past few days, I have not been receiving notifications - on the desktop app (iOS) or through email - when I get messages. This makes it difficult to reply to clients in a timely manner. I've tried uninstalling, then downloading and re-installing the app, but still no luck.
