try to write quality proposal plus before applying to a job make sure you check the client history his hire rate money spent on upwork

This is not how it works. It all depends on how much money you pour into this mud hole called UW. Skills, reputation, UW jobs history, they mean nothing. Verified accounts mean nothing, "clients" can fake it left and right, even UW itself is creating multiple fake jobs to drain freelancers' pockets. See the forum, read what people experience and don't come with such bs "advice".

Well In my case i am getting response from clients getting hired by clients my proposals are getting viewed. first comes your profile. How much is your profile is optimized then comes your proposal from 1 May to 1 june as a new freelancer on upwork with new profile i secured 2 jobs in a month. and now on 4 june i secured another job.

"as a new freelancer" - that's the thing. Upwork hates vets and it is known fact, every corpoo hates vets because they see through corpo's bs and can't be played like noobs are. You newish people are promoted left and right so UW can milk you as much as they can, while we, who built the platform, are slowly put in trash bin. Enjoy while you can, once you are moved to our league you will change your mind.
Also, I don't apply for jobs for months because I don't have money to pay for applying, those couple of $$ I receive when I beg on the streets I prefer to spend on food.

when you win some projects you can split some of your desired amount for connects or make sure you are gettu=ing interviewed so that you can recieve back your 10 connects

I don't win projects. I'm not getting interviewed because my proposals are not viewed. I mean, that's all in the past, as I said I can't afford paying to apply for something that is not even real. I get you people are all rainbow and shiny but I personally count every $$ I have and now it's exactly... let me check... $1.36 after conversion from my local currency. That's what I have available until the end of this month. I used to get offers, I used to even decline some offers because I had constant flow of projects, heck I could afford buying food every day and paying bills on regular basis. I was applying and my proposals were viewed and replied to. Yes I was splitting my income so I could use funds from UW to buy connects if I needed, and they were not ruining my budget because they were at fair price while now it's just greed, greed and filling management's pockets. I had a job so I could fund my medication. I am happy for you, I really am, please enjoy your success but don't give me advice. The only advice is for UW to stop abusing people but those monsters are not humans so any human-related arguments will hit the brick wall.

I can confirm that Upwork skews the platform against skilled veterans. Every year as my portfolio grows, my performance gets worse and worse. I've written extensively about this in other threads. This is a platform for clients to find cheap, moderately skilled labor and experts rarely thrive.

This is not true. I've been on Upwork for less than six months and I'm closing in on Top Rated Plus. Upwork does NOT promote my profile. I get 2-3 invites a month because I'm good at what I do. I have never boosted a proposal, and my proposals have a view rate of between 50 and 70%. I write my proposals like a normal human and are full of emotion and personality. Proposals and the fact that I've been doing business with customers for 15 years are the reasons I have succeeded on Upwork; not because UP "promotes us left and right so they can milk us".
If you are so dissatisfied why are you still here?
