Not getting enough work and attention

Hello,

I am Top Rated since i started my first job but still i am not getting enough work, attention and support from Upwork. Very depressed.

Can any successful freelancer advice me how to win jobs?

Appreciate the help.

Thank you. Yes i am not making much money but worried if i will get any work after increasing my hourly rate or not.

You could set up a specialised profile for your virtual assistant work (instead of having a specialised data entry profile) and try going to $8 or $10 per hour with that. You could always put it back down again if it doesn't work out. In terms of new skills, I've seen  projects in which clients seem to demand a lot from their assistants, things like updating their websites and doing bookkeeping and presentations, so if you could learn those kinds of skills - perhaps look into some online courses - then you'd be able to charge more money.

Whatever you've been saying in your proposals is obviously working well for you (have you ever considered becoming a salesman?), so at least you have that important skill already. Lots of talented and skilled people join Upwork but don't know what to say in order to convince clients to hire them, so you're doing better than they are. Don't be discouraged.

It looks to me like you're getting lots of jobs - you've been on Upwork for a little over a year and you've done 61 projects (that's really good). If you're not making enough money, why not raise your hourly rate?

Your level of success is impressive given the fact that you are presenting yourself as somebody with no real skills.

This is how you identify yourself:

Data Entry
Online Research
Virtual/Administrative Assistance

If you want to break through to the next level, you need to learn skills or technologies which are not simply entry-level in nature.

Thank you. Any suggested skills please?

That's not how it works.

You are supposed to offer the skills you actually have already. Those who have no real identifyable skills offer what you are currently offering and generally find it hard to make any meaningful money, because everyone can do what they are offering.

Thank you. Yes i am not making much money but worried if i will get any work after increasing my hourly rate or not.
