Not getting invitations as Top Rated

I've never really gotten many invitations on my first year on Upwork. Maybe 1-2 max per week, including the Top Rated specialist invitations.

Recently, I lost my top rated due to a bad client, and eventually got it back once I waited out the 13 weeks again. Now, I can't seem to get any invitations at all. Maybe received 1 or 2 in the past 2 months. Not even getting the talent specialist invitations.

What could I be doing wrong?

No he doesn't, but I just set my earnings to private a few days ago due to some reasons I won't discuss here, and it's my first time doing so as well. I understand this may exclude me from clients that are willing to invite me, but also from Upwork hiring specialists?

Sure, you won't feature in any searches with a money paid element.

It will significantly decrease the invites you get.

Hi Ahmed, You are a Top rated freelancer so you have higher chances to win bids. Purchase connects and bid on Jobs instead of waiting for invitation. Upwork is designed such way that you have to send a proposal on a job to get it, invitation is just an extra service of Upwork.

Best of luck

I understand, and this is what I've done to get most of my jobs for the past year.

My colleague who works in the same domain as me has always received many times more invitations than me, and I don't see any big difference between our profiles

1- I do not think so getting hired an invitation is better than getting hired on a job on which you sent a proposal. In a proposal, you can apply to the most suitable job with the price of your choice. So, like last year, keep bidding this year as well.

2- Well, there can be a difference in Portfolio, earnings or pricing. Simply, there would be hundreds of freelancers who have profile like you in the same domain but not everyone is getting invitations. Getting no invitation is not a big problem in my opinion however not getting hired on proposed jobs is something to be worried of.

Does your colleague also set his rates private? It excludes you from lots of searches and many clients who do find you don't invite people who set their rates to private.

It's such a pointless thing to do.

I try very hard to grow on the platform...
Despite achieving an "Upwork Skills Certification in Design and Creativity", and being TOP RATED since week 14 on the platform, I did not see any growth, I hardly receive invitations and if I do receive them, they are of very poor quality.
It was supposed to be easier to stand out with these things.
I was very disappointed, I tried it with the AVAILABLE state and BOOSTED proposals, but it didn't work either.
How am I going to grow if this is so?

Hey Guys,

I hope all are doing great!

I am not getting as many invites as I was receiving a few months back. Can someone look at my profile and let me know what's wrong?

Thanks!
