Not getting replies to my proposals.

Hi, my Name is Nelson and i´ve been on the site for some time with 4 jobs successfully completed (from the same client) and +$60 earned over the course of last month.

This month has proven me completely disappointing in terms that i haven´t been recieving any replies to my proposals, and when i recieve replies, those don´t make any contract when interested.

Did something happened to my account that is preventing me to recieve replies to my proposals? And if so what can i do to solve it?

Thank you.

To be honest, your profile is terrible for a creative provider.

You have no portfolio showcasing your work, which would stop me (as someone who has hired designers in the past) discount you immediately.

You are in one of the most competitive categories on Upwork, with dozens of applicants for every contract. Without an outstanding profile your chances of being chosen over the competition are very slim indeed.

Thank you for your reply.

I will do my best to make a better portfolio (i only sent my samples on my Cover Letters).

I have the potential to make it happen.

I just have my doubts with the time i´m gonna need to do it.

Thank you again. 🙂

Hi,

As a graphic designer you need a creative portfolio that attracts the eyes of the clients, which you don`t have. Put yourself in the clients shoes, would you hire a freelancer with your profile?, No.

And your 4 jobs are somehow weird, they have no clear title. You need to improve your profile with samples of your previous work.

Hope this helps.

Hi, you have a good point there. And i'm gonna work on that. Even if it takes me some time.

My 4 jobs only consisted into linework and coloring images, since my employer had more work, he named it that way.

Thank you for your reply.

It's funny how you blame the system and not yourself for this.

Hi.

I wasn´t blaming the system, i just had a fear that something happened to my account without informing me first. I also said that if so, what could i do to solve it. It was just on my end and it will take me some time to work on improving my material (beacuse my samplework is on a hobby level and most of that isn´t that great to present as samples limiting it to a few pieces).

Nothing "happened to" your profile. It is just not good enough. Your overview is not grabbing attention. Completely rewrite it, putting your unique selling points into the first line as that is all clients see in the preview window!

If that does not grab their attention, they won't even look at it.

Upwork is not a licence to print easy money. It takes serious business skills to make it here.

Gonna take that advice too. Once i work on my Portfolio. 🙂

And since the problem isn´t with my account that pretty much gave me some relief. All what it´s left to do is to work harder and Try again. 🙂

Thank you! (Again!)

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I understand it. No problem with that.

Thank you for reminding me the guidelines. 🙂
