Old Projects Should Be Removed

I would like to suggest that when a client fails to respond to proposals after 7 days, their project should expire and no longer be shown in search results. It wastes our time.

Also, i propose something be done to set the minimum hourly rate to build a website to at least $20/hr. We are getting a ton of projects coming in at $5/hr.

Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. We understand your frustration and we are always looking for ways to improve the Upwork platform. I would like to inform you that we already have this in place where the job post will expire if there is no activity from a client on the job for 30 days.

The minimum hourly rate for website development is determined by the market demand and supply, as well as the skills and experience of the freelancers. I will share your suggestions with the team but I may not be able to share the outcome of their decision.

I support you these old projects should be removed

How does it harm you if we are hired later? If you don't want the job, or are not qualified, how does it harm anyone to let the rest of us work and earn money?

Why are you determined to take work away from successful freelancers? If 7 days is too old for you, don't send a proposal. Why do you need to block the rest of us from the many thousands of tens of thousands of dollars we earn from clients who hire us after three weeks or two months or more>

"Sort by newest" seems to be a great way to remedy this non-problem

Well I don't care about old projects as long as they are legit clients, I'd be more happy if don't see scam jobs.

As for minimum for development work no one can really set it to $20/hr. Infact I say let them hire a developer to build dynamic website with API integration and database design for $5. I'd love to see the results. 😁

I would imagine you'd see 10-20 of the worst proposals you've ever read.

Why does everyone want to deprive their fellow freelancers from work? How does it possibly hurt you to leave them alone and allow someone else to be hired? Ignore them, and let the rest of us make money. I have been hired weeks after the job was posted because the client couldn't find anyone qualified for the job.

Ignore the cheap jobs, and don't apply. Problem solved. If everyone did that, there would be no dirt cheap jobs.
