On short profile its show only hours not fixed job

When a freelancer apply for a job and client view the application for concern job its show only hours to client, not showing fixed job, Its not good for all those freelancer which have did fixed job more and less worked for hours.

and one more thing when a client posting a job its have option atleast 100 hours and so on, again its too bad for those freelancer which have did mostly fixed job.

Is it mean here on upwork only hours have value if so then why upwork allow clients to post a fixed job?

My request to upwork concern team that please make it better like elance.

For those which not understand my point I am attaching a screenshot to clearfy it more.

Dear freelancer if you agree with me please leave a comments here.

Thanks!

So I guess you decided to be one of the last off the sinking ship and came here for three seconds to complain without doing a search?

Welcome to 6 months ago.

Jennifer, how'd you get the Upwork welcome wagon gig?

They secretly PM'd me and said I had the best greeter's attitude.

I might be a Walmart greeter one of these days. Prolly missed my calling.

What do you mean madam?

Sultan= I agree with you 110% but this has been hashed over, suggested, talked about and complained about for so long. It looks like Upwork is not going to chage the way they do it now otherwise they would have done it a long time ago.

All youi can possible do, is to make it known in your profile that you work only fixed rate job and that you have well over XX jobs that total more then XX hours.---- And hope that the client reads your proposal since they will get a message that your proposal does not meet their requirements.

By the way, not to get off subject. but you'll need to change your icon picture. Logo's are not allowed here, Only a photo of yourself or nothing at all. Having a logo will get your account suspended and when that happens it won't matter about fixed rate vs. hourly because you won't be able to submit proposals at all.

What do you mean logo is not allowed here?

or you mean on my profile my logo?

I am using upwork since last 5 months and i have logo there on my profile. are you sure about this that logo is not allowed ?

Thanks

For your response

Sultan

I'm refering to your profile logo. If, as you just did, go into your profile and edit your picture, you'll see on the right hand side this displayed. ---

Must be an actual picture of you! Logos, clip-art, group pictures, and digitally-altered images not allowed

I am concerned by the fact that clients are shown how many "tracked hours" we have worked on Upwork - and in fact are encouraged to state the minimum number of many hours they want their freelancer to have worked in order to bid on a contract - with no consideration for how many *flat rate* projects we have worked on.

I bid almost exclusively on a flat-rate basis, and have had many successful contracts, and happy clients, for seven years. Yet, now when I'm attempting to bid on new contracts, all the clients can see is that I don't meet their qualifications because I haven't worked *500 hours* with Upwork (attached screenshot). In fact, I have worked many more times that, but have been paid per-piece.

I am a person with a disability who can only work from home, and I can't work for long periods of time, but split my work up throughout the day and evening. The whole point of freelancing for me is to be able to do this. What it means is that, while I produce quality work in good time, I simply cannot work on the actual clock - nor would it be fair for my clients for me to do so, as it takes me longer if you're counting the minutes and hours.
