Useless comment. Doesn't make sense, commerce is a broad subject. **edited for Community Guidelines**

I used to like upwork, but it is really getting hard to rely on it. The price gets raised, and most proposals are 6 connects a piece!! INSANE!! So you really don't get much value for the money with only 70 connects...I can use all those connects in one day!! With all the competition out there it is almost nil to score something...Sure they say that you will get connects back when you are not hired and a job is closed. However, I couldn't tell you how many don't close them so you are out of those connects. For the now $14.99 there should be NO CONNECT cutoff. Especially since we are also paying fees if we do get something on top of the membership amount....Not to mention the many fraudulent job posts I still run into on here...I am a tetering member on here and would love to promote Upwork more through my business contacts....but, something needs to give.....

Then you are probably doing it wrong.

Your profile says that you think you're an all-rounder, it does not suggest that you would be the best qualified for the job - any job. (in most cases). Most clients want specialists.

Why are you being so rude? I have many different skills, that does not mean I am underqualified! WOW! No one can have an opinion on here....Sounds like I am in a political debate room!! WOW....

Being rude?

I'm making a suggestion as an experienced freelancer and as a client. Take it or leave it - your freelancing career makes no difference to me.

*Edit - And I did not say you were unqualified, did I? I said that your profile does not highlight that you are the best person for a particular job. For all I know, you might be the best graphic designer, or whatever, on Upwork - but your profile does not reflect that. I can't tell from your profile what you are good at and a client won't be able to either.

You only started using Upwork as a freelancer this month...

I have to agree with Jamie. You would likely not need as many connects if you improved your profile.

In the list of freelancers, clients only see the first line or two. If the very vital first sentence of your profile does not sell you, then your profile won't even be clicked on.

You waste that space by telling the client your name (which he/she can see anyway) and that you like working from the comfort of your home. How is that a unique selling point?

If you are using 70 connects per day, you are part of the reason Upwork found it necessary to start charging for connects.

I beg to differ on that, there is so much competition especially with the freelancers offering ridiculously low ball bids that some of us have to put in more proposals hoping to get a hit or a look. If you cannot see that yourself then you are obviously blind. Just like there are many you can bid on and never hear anything back on and some it has been weeks or a month later. I am sorry, but I can't sit there idle wondering and waiting I have to keep looking and submitting proposals. I don't have a offer fairy throwing projects at me. So go ahead come back with another rude comment. Just because you have been blessed, don't mean some of us are not working on climbing up on that high horse you are already on.

I am a sole supporter of a 4 year old and a disabled husband. I don't want sympathy, but when I pay a $14.99 monthly fee and money out of the projects I do get, I have a right to butt heads with the connect idea. I have no problem with the project fees or the $14.99 I NEVER SAID THAT. I just said due to those two facts connects should be unlimited...

I want to help, please take this as it was meant - to help improve your chances. Your profile reads like a dating profile. It says nothing of your skills. You also claim to have perfect grasp of the English language, but you have grammatical errors in your profile.  I am sure you provide quality work, but your profile really reads like a personals ad versus a freelancing ad. Remove all the personal stuff and make it about your work and skills. What software do you have expertise with?  What's your background? How did you come by your expertise?  Can you list any specific work-related achievements? It's also not clear what kind of consultant you are from your title. You may do many types of things, but would it generally be considered administrative, writing, editing, creative?   There's nothing really setting you apart.  I think if you modified your profile (and perhaps proposals accordingly) you'd have more success.

I hope this is helpful and helps you not have to buy so many connects!
