Hi, I want to pay my Freelancer in Advance. How can I do this?
(I want to do it for a few reasons:-
I want him to have access to funds for Christmas
I have worked with him before and I trust him
I want to show good faith in him
besides, it's only a few hundred dollars so no big deal if I have judged him wrong)
Thanks

You can use the client-side "Send bonus" tool to pay a freelancer in advance. There are no restrictions to how much you can send. There are no restrictions about when you can do this.
You can even send a payment using an already-closed contract.
This is the simplest way to send a payment in advance to a freelancer.
If you sent a payment now, the payment would show up in the freelancer's account immediately. And he would be able to withdraw those funds in just five days.

That's really nice of you, Chris!
To add to Preston's advice, you can also check out this help article for more information on how you can send a bonus payment to your freelancer.

Avery, keep in mind, that for instance, in my case, I needed to pay my freelancer in advance, because she had to buy a product on my behalf in her country. So, i think there are plenty of situations in which it is normal that the customer pays in advance.
