Payment Dispute

Dear Team,

I worked for the client on an hourly-based contract but the client is not paying for the work and end the contract.

Regards,

Hi Tasaddaq,

On an hourly contract, you log hours and the client is automatically billed for them. Please this article to learn how to log time using this app. Please learn about Hourly Payment Protection and Weekly Billing Cycle

You may want to follow up with your client and ask them to process a bonus payment. In the future, please consider using Upwork Desktop App to track your hours so you could benefit from Upwork Hourly Protection.

Thank you!

Clients are charged automatically for the hours you tracked. They do not proactively "pay"!

Did you track your hours using the Upwork tracker properly, with meaningful memos and good activity levels?

When you say "Dispute" - is your client disputing your hours?

Dear Petra,

I did not track the hour, but I tried to contact him through the helpdesk for the bonus payment. Hopefully, it will work.

Hello all,

I'm reaching out to our respective community and forums to seek an answer about a particular payment that my client sent me via bonus structure and it's sent to my agency acount.

The thing is, I got charged of $5.49 transaction fee and that the bonus sent by my client is just $5, I can't believe that I can't withdraw it and worst case is I'm getting charged more than the amount of my client's payment. Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi Eljun,

I'm sorry if this was confusing for you. I can see that the client sent you a direct offer for the contract in question. In this case, when you received the bonus, you were charged an instant connection fee of $4.99 in addition to the service fee. This is a one-time fee for the contract in question, so any subsequent earnings will not be impacted.
