Payment Issues

Hi, Upwork initiated a payment of my remaining funds to an account that had not been completely set up. (It's a Wire Transfer to an account that doesn't accept funds in USD). I'm aware that Upwork cannot hold funds for more than 180 days, but I expected some type of notification. Besides my payment schedule was set to withdraw when balance was $1000 or more, so I'm not sure why it withdrew the money at all. 

 

Any idea what happens to the money if my bank refuses to accept it?

It gets back to your Upwork account.

Thanks for the reply guys. The bank created a Domicillary account and deposited the money
