Payment Pounds vs Dollars

Hello! I have a client on Upwork. She said that she will pay me 250 pounds total but on our contract we made the total amount 250 dollars by mistake. She is saying that she is paying pound basis every month but i take it as dollars. I mean she pays 50 pounds to upwork but i take 50 dollars. Where did the money go that she paid?

Hi Becky,

All rates, budgets, payments, etc. are displayed in US Dollars on Upwork site. That said, if your client adds a credit card as a billing method, they can set it to be charged in their local currency. You can share this help article with them. 

For freelancers, when direct to local bank account is the disbursement method, then the funds are converted automatically into their local currency. You can check out this article for more information.
