Payment by milestones

My client wants me to send the work done by e-mail, after he releases each milestones. Can the client pay a milestone without me submitting the work in the plataform? 

For example, he already funded the first milestone, but I didn't send him any work via upwork. Is there a chance in the end he is going to get the money back?

Hi Mayara,

Thank you for your message. You will need to submit work using the 'Submit work for Payment' button on the milestone to request payment on the milestone. You have the option to send the work through both email and Upwork or just include a screenshot of a proof of deliverable submitted via email in the message box.
