Hi..

I am trying to withdraw upwork funds towards PayPal and the status on my upwork account indicates that PayPal account is inactive.

Is it necessary to take another step?

should I remove the PayPal account from upwork and re-add? thanks in advance

Did you set up your PayPal more than 3 days ago? (there is a security period for new withdrawal methods)

Have you completed your tax info?

Hi Alex, 

It looks like you are yet to submit your Form W-8BEN. Please go to your Settings > Tax Information, and provide us with your legal name and address that matches the details of your Upwork account. This form confirms that you are not a U.S. Freelancer, and taxes will not be withheld on your Upwork earnings. 

Once set, you should be able to start using your chosen payment method.
