Paypal ffes

Hi all,

I got charged about $39 by Paypal on my last withdrawal. $2 withdrawal fee (no problem), something described as Paypal fee ($ 17). Then at the PP end the worst exchange rate in the world so paid US20 over spot rate. Total US $ 39. What is the $17 Paypal fee for? Thanks in advance.

Where do you see "PayPal fee?" In your transaction history on Upwork?

Can you double check and see if it really says "PayPal fee" rather than "Service fee?"

The Service fee is what Upwork charges you for their service. I have never seen a "PayPal fee"

Hi Petra,

In my statement of earnings, this is what I see. Looking at it again, I think Upwork just topped up my Upwork account and tabled it as a withdrawal.Does that make sense?

No, you see the Service Fee. That is what you pay Upwork, a percentage of the earnings. It is not a PayPal fee.

Let's go through them:

Withdrawal Fee - the $ 2 you pay to withdraw

Withdrawal - The sum you withdrew to your PayPal account

VAT - The VAT you pay on the Service Fee

Service Fee - The fee (XX% of the billed amount) you pay to Upwork

Hourly - the week's hourly charges for the hours you worked.

Thanms and solved.
