Pen name VS name on ID

Hi! I am an experienced writer with a large body of work online. My pen nae is spelled a bit dofferently than the name on my ID (first name only). For this reason, my ID has been rejected- but it would be silly not to use my pen name (again, only a slightly different spelling of first name). Ideas, anyone? Thank you!

There's no workaround for that. You are only allowed to use your legal name. Of course, you're free to use your pen name on the work you contract for, just like other writers who use a pen name do, but the name on your account must be the person legally contracting with the client.

Is there a way to mention my byline name in the profile elegantly , in your
experience? It’s an Aimee instead of Amy, but I would like people to find
my work if they want to see it ( I am a journalist with a lot of work which
can be seen online)

Actually, referencing on your profile something that potential clients could use to identify and contact you outside Upwork is prohibited. You can include bylined pieces in a portfolio that you send along with your proposal.

Actually, commonly used variations of the legal name CAN be used as Upwork profile names.

Ben for Benjamin

Bob or Robby for Robert

Jack for James

Nicky for Nicola

etc etc etc

I think Aimee for Amy could well  be ok, just contact Support and have it manually reviewed
