I'm trying to complete my profile and when requesting a phone verification code, nothing happens. I've tried several times. I've done it successfully through the "Security" settings but am still being prompted for it when on my Profile page.

I checked your account and wanted to ask if you can try typing in your City in the city field, and typing your US number in with the area code to see if the issue persists? Let me know so that I can assist you further.
I am able to enter the City info along with area code and unfortunately the issue still persists. I tried through my mobile device (as a test) and experienced the same issue.
