Scams are a common folklore on all platforms. It is not their abundance that is worrying me. It is absence of quality clients that is a much bigger problem. Various media covering business topics say we are into the era of freelancing, online work and outsourcing of many jobs. In reality things seem to switch to that phenomenon much slower. That is where Upwork can step in and make a game-changing competitive advantage. More quality clients = more work and money for most of us.
Wish I would se a research, preferably an academic research about motifs why firms should become freelance platform clients and why not.
