 I'm not sure if that information will be edited here but do you know why the client has paused the contract? Or did Upwork pause it? Have you contacted customer support? If so, follow their directions. 

Sometimes contracts are paused for inactivity or a change in credit card information. Sometimes it's not as dire as we thnk. 

 

Upwork doesn't ban a client for pausing a contract.

 

Anyway, most of the time when a contract is paused, it isn't even the client who paused it. Most paused contracts are paused by Upwork itself.
