I just got this email. I assume it is a scam, as everything from the email address to the content of the email points towards it. Just wanted to let everyone know and make Upwork aware of it.

Is it really? I assumed that an email from a specific person wouldn't be sent from "upwork@e.upwork.com" (to me it sounded like someone created the e.upwork.com address to seem like an upwork.com address).
Another thing that made my alarm bells ring was the lack of the usual fonts/images used by official Upwork messages.
If this indeed isn't a phising attempt, maybe the sender could see it as some kind of criticism of the message.

You shouldn't. The problem doesn't lie with you, but with the low quality of these communications. Many freelancers have come to the forums with similar questions, and others have undoubtedly simply deleted them as spam. Valeria has recently said that the "talent specialist" program is still under development, so we can hope for improvement in that sector, but it would be beneficial for Upwork to review all of its correspondence and upgrade both the clarity and professionalism. It would probably pay for itself in decreased follow-ups with customer service to find out what the email was meant to convey or just verify its legitimacy.

"e.upwork.com" is a sub-domain of Upwork. You can't register a sub-domain if the domain doesn't belong to you. To be sure of the sender of the mail you can check the word before top level domain. Top level domains are .com, .org, .net, etc.
So if "www.baris.biz" is my imaginary domain, any mail coming from "baris@baris.biz" is from me as well as any mail coming from "baris@support.baris.biz" or "baris@XXX.baris.biz"
Scammers use hyphen (-) instead of period (.). So if you receive a mail from
"baris@support-baris.biz" or "support@X-upwork.com" or something like that than it is possibly a scam. Hope this helps.
PS: That's not my or anybody's mail. So please don't edit it for community guidelines.
