Profile View Drop in Stats

How many highly experienced Freeelancers have seen their Profile Views in Stats drop precipitouisly in the last few weeks?  Mine has gone from 60-70 to 7.

After I swore I wouldn't look anymore, I did.  Still flatlined BUT I've had more invitations this week than I've had in two months previously.  So clearly, there's just a bug in reporting views.

Same here

I just got a "zero views" literally for the first time ever since I signed up with Upwork. Before that it was all wonky, showing "fewer" views but a bump upward on the graph, "seen 33% more" when the previous week was double, and so on. Meanwhile, people are finding me. so really, who knows?

It will be April 1st in a few weeks. Maybe this is an early prank. 🙂

This issue may have been finally fixed - but not retroactively.

It now shows 1 view at last chart point - at least not 0.

FWIW - a retroactive fix would be appropriate - and aboveboard.

I show no evidence of that. Still 0 views since Feb 18th. I actually had an invite today so something should have shown since.

The same situation... 0 profile views at this week and no any invites. How and when it may be fixed?

Regards, Alexandr

This made me look.

Zero profile views in the last week.

I thought the sudden lack of invites was an economy thing, and maybe people reigning spending in.

I've had zero views for two weeks now, and yet...invitations.

In unrelated news, I got my shiny blue check mark this morning. But I don't feel any different! (Just proud that I was able to upload the photo of my DL successfuly on the first try. Maybe I've got the makings of a successful FL, after all.)

Hi All,

Firstly, I'd like to thank you all for your patience while we are investigating and fixing this issue. I have a few updates:

- The team identified the cause of this issue. Essentially, the information about profile views wasn't reflected correctly on My Stats page.

- Only the way profile views are displayed on My Stats page is affected. There are no issues with how freelancer profiles and proposals are shown to and viewed by clients.

- The team is working on restoring the information about profile views both going forward and for the period of time when it wasn't working correctly.

- I can't provide the exact time for when it'll be fixed. However, rest assured that this issues is treated as urgent and we'll get this fixed as soon as possible.

I'll update this thread once we receive a confirmation that the issue is fixed.

Upwork

Hi! Actually, it is not only how statistic shown, I am having big loss of interest to my profile. It is even a strange to talk about my profile and invitations... it looks like I need to be thankful for few invites in half of year.  For this moment all is going even in more deep down. It is not only profile veiw statistic problem definetly.

Experiencing a big drop.

I suggest everyone who is experiencing the drop read the thread under Announcements titled "Introducing Upwork Plus for Clients".  There is a definite correlation between the stats drop and the impact of U. Plus.

Sorry, not buying what you are selling Ms V.

As a Top Rated FL, I was used to getting regular invites. That's actually how I got most of my work, not surfing the job feed. Now I don't get any invites from new clients.

What's up?

I'm not buying it either. Just looked at mine again and wish I hadn't - DOWN -100%. Seriously? So here's a question that might sound paranoid - is the fact that our bids might be getting trashed by so-called "talent specialists" affecting our stats in any way, shape or form? If a potential client views my profile, but a TA then decides to hide my bid, does that negate a client's view? C'mon Upwork, WTH is going on here?

Totally agree. Its just not drop in profile views, the problem is much more deep. In the last month, I have applied for plenty of job. But can you believe, I didnt get any SINGLE RESPONSE from my porposals that is very unlikely and strange at the same time. It never happened before. Usually atleast 60% of the time, I get responses from the clients. I have a strong doubt, that my proposals are visible to clients.

Kanwal

Wendy, I can't imagine Upwork will make much money from U Plus for clients. If I were new to Upwork, I would think it was just a gimmick. The end result is a penalty to Top Rated freelancers. It certainly feels that way now with the recent dearth of interest in my profile.

I am sure that an analytics team at Upwork will study the impact of Upwork Plus. They might find they make more profits without Upwork Plus. (Top Rated freelancers getting less jobs = less fee income.) It will probably take months to have the data to prove it, though.

Graph of my "Profile Views" looks like a sleeping man! Can anyone please tell when he is going to wake up again? I do send proposals regularly and my profile is set as public, BTW.

Feb 14 was the magic day when all of this went to pot. Yes it is now March 6th and we have no fix nor information. I should be shocked but I am not.

If this will be the worst of our problems I can live with zero views till the end of my life.

The thing is that we tend to say that quite a lot on this site. Taken individually these things are certainly not "end of days" but the fact remains that pretty basic things keep breaking and resolving them takes a shocking amount of time. This is a large site that has been in play for years and is now a public company. At some point you hope they put on their big boy pants, but there has been very little evidence to support that is coming. Meanwhile it will be something else in not too long a period of time and we'll again say "if this is the worst of our problems...".

I haven't gotten an invite or interview in days. It's like I'm invisible. Please fix this.

Really, i have to say, same for me. Something is definitely isn't right. I am writing killer cover letters but not getting responses to them. Things have never been that bad, really. It must be some bug preventing clients from seeing me.

I went from getting invites on a daily basis to none at all. No change in JSS or anything else. Something isn’t right.

Any updates?

This is the worst I have ever seen in my stats! 🙂Capture.JPG

As a lot of are finding, STATS are down, drastically. I have mentioned this  in a UpWork LinkedIn post and they're aware and working on fixing the issue. It is hard to see a Down 100% in views and getting no invites. Rest assured, I think someone is making changes.

It's only been broken since February 28th.

So I am really resting assured that someone is making changes.Smiley Sad

I have to agree with Joseph C here, it's been down for 2 to 3 weeks at least for me. At first I wasn't aware of it because I was in a busy peak with clients and now in my normal week I realized this problem. I really hope this isn't just a "profile reporting error." - That would be a scary new thing, no invites in weeks.

Hi! I think it is not just a next  bug with statistic. My last 3 year experience here shows that things will not come back like it was before drop in view and not getting invitations. For those who had few invitations per day and so on: you are now is really Top Rated Upwork freelancer - try to survive with min views and min job invitations. It is possible, but better do not expect support, service, right working algorithm, right working statistic. This site is not support the best freelancers.

Hey Upwork, any updates?! I have the same issue for a couple of weeks now.

Mine as well. It drops to zero =(  I hope that this is not permanent please...12s.PNG

I have to point out another observation. Projects that have been submitted in the last couple weeks, tend to have quite a bit fewer applications on them. As if the vast majority of them have been auto-removed or invisible. I have to think that some bug in the system hides or blocks most cover letters. This is why we see so much fewer replies.

**Edited for Community Guidelines**

for example this. it is very generic -> many people are supposed to be able to do it. i would expect a crowd of like 100-150 people swarming it. and yet we see only 5-10. how is this possible? Many of them are like this.

**Edited for Community Guidelines**another project which is so broad and generic it couldn't possibly not attract swarms of coders. yet there are only 10-15. it seems like vast majority of legit applications are getting blocked or deleted for some reason and never get visible on the client's side.

FWIW I haven't noticed any drop in applications in my area (VBA programming), or any drop in the number of interviews I've had.

I've had very few invitations recently (for longer than can be accounted for by just being out of the rotation, judging by my previous rotation cycles). But then I never get many invitations, so this could be just bad luck.

I also had same issue. But I am thinking that if everybody has same issue, maybe I spent all my connects for nothing. Because nobody is viewing my profile.

The graph is indeed broken, but it NEVER showed the number of people who looked at your profile as a result of a proposal.  Never ever!! It only showed the number of people who looked at your profile as a result of their searches.

The fact that the graph is broken means that you don't know how many people found you in searches, it does not mean you are not found in searches, and certainly has nothing to do with what people look at from your proposals.
