Profile not being activated

well got the same problem as alot have,my profile is not activated and it gave the error message that says that i have to edit my profile in order to get activated 

 

and it didnt specified what should i edit in my profile.

 

HELP

Mine looks like this too, it appears to already be in edit mode and there's nothing saying "done editing". 

This is a horrible bug. My jobs aren't in order and everything else is messed up.

I hope clients can't see this profile from their side. Mods what's going on??

A totally useless facelift that's not done without affecting freelancers. My portfolio items and tests are all messed up - what's more, it takes forever to select the tests to be shown on my profile AND (!) there's no way to save that once it's done.

What did they do to profiles today? They look terribleWoman Sad small font, faded green..

If you leave Upwork for a couple of days, you might not recognize it when you get back. 

Call me paranoid but just now I took screenshots of everything -- Profile, My Stats, Reports -- in case something should go 'pfft'

since I've been doing the same thing for about the last 3 weeks

Well, on another topic, someone wrote that 'plumbers always have the worst pipes'. So might be some developers aren't as diligent doing backups as they should be. Cat Embarassed

Can we get an official response here? Please tell me that this is a terrible bug and not a "revamp" of our profiles!

Isabelle, I don't want to mistreat a dead horse, but, just once, wouldn't it be nice if there was a pre-annoucement before making a change to the site, along the lines of,

 

We will be doing this & that tomorrow for such & such reasons. We apologize in advance for any disruption this may cause.

I guess Upwork thought that it was not worth taking the time to let us know. But Upwork has just announced a "Job Application Language Change".

Hi All,

 

I would like to confirm that the updates to the freelancer profile were introduced to enable freelancers to better highlight their skills and expertise. The changes include cutting edge design tools to edit different sections.

 

If you need to edit your profile, you can hover your mouse over a section of your profile and then click on the pencil icon to edit it. Once done editing, click Save. When you do not hover your mouse over any section, you see your profile as others see it.

Other than that there was no change in functionality.

 I apologize but you're totally wrong, Valeria. I am now uncapable of viewing my profile as others see it (even if I choose the 'View my profile as others see it' under Profile Settings). My profile now shows all the tests I took on Upwork. In order to know how others see my page, I had to spend nearly 1 hour live chatting this afternoon. I had to change browser, select my tests again and ask your agent to show me how others view my page. Is this 'cutting edge' tools?

Valeria, I'm sorry - but this is a bug. I have the same problems as Olga and my job history order is completely messed up.

Could you please elaborate on the cutting-edge bit because I am unable to find it. I see a jumbled portfolio, a very difficult to read profile, and edit boxes that use different font sizes.

 

I am not sure what this obsession with decreasing font sizes for no apparent reason is all about, but your dev team's font anorexia should be treated because if we continue like this, we'll be at font size 2 by September.

If I was cynical I'd think that they had realised someone had made a massive boo-boo in the source code for the page, and are now running round like headless chickens trying to fix it.

 

But no, of course not - cutting edge it is. Right.

How come such cutting-edge updates weren't announced in the Official Announcements forum? Or was it justso as not to take away the focus from that other new cutting-edge development, calling applications proposals? It appears to me that right now Upwork's cutting edge is as sharp as an amoeba's toenail.

I actually decided against replacing my monitor with a touch-screen because the new Upwork interface is so cutting edge.

Hi Ms Valeria I've been revising my profile a couple of times but yet it wasn't approved. I've done the advise to me but it says it needs to be improve. Please help. Thanks in advance! ๐Ÿ™‚

Celine, please set your profile to public. Right now it is pro ate and there is no way for community forum members to view it and tell you what is wrong.

When I click on view my profile as others see it I see every test I took, and I see the Yes/No next to each one for visible on profile or not, but nonetheless I still see all of them when "viewing as others see it". Can they see all this? 

For the test, I see your failed tests too when I click to "view full profile"

Please read this thread from the start. It is quite obviously a bug generated while they were trying to clean up the profile pages; though Valeria ensures us it's the introduction of new cutting-edge tools. (Keeping test results hidden if I want them to be would be cutting edge enough for me right now.)

I have the same issue. All my tests are visible, even those marked with "NO".

Some other freelancers have reported the same problem.

I have submitted a ticket to the Help Center...

Valeria, apparently there's another problem - freelancers' responses to client feedback is also not showing on the profile.

Just a couple of words of advice, TEST, TEST, TEST, and then TEST it again!

 

 

Maybe some day all these are going to be cool, but if they don't work you're just alienating your users. Me, personally I don't care about these new "cool" features, to me basic things need to get fixed before adding any new features. Adding new features is not going to make the other bugs get forgotten. It just doesn't work that way.

Each and every test I took are now showing in my profile:  Even those I opted not to show! Not good! Not good!

(Tried to search myself and found those I chose to hide not showing. I guess I'm good now. Sorry!)

I've created my profile on upwork 3-4 days ago. If I open any job and go to submit proposal it tell me, "Your profile is being reviewed. It must be approved before you can submit a proposal." Anyone can tell me how long will it take to avtivate?

In order to have your profile approved, please capitalize the first letters of your name and revise your overview. Make sure your profile overview it is well-written, does not have punctuation or grammatical errors, words are capitalized where appropriate and is based on your past experience and skillsSince you are a new freelancer and do not have any work history on Upwork yet, your profile overview is very important for attracting clients.

 

I'd also suggest adding some portfolio items showing your skills and experience, and not displaying skill tests which you failed or have scored below average, until you can retake them and improve your score.
