Hello,
I have a very well developed profile (Profile here) and after I left my last client on good terms in March of 2024 I went from Top-rated plus to having no rating at all. I understand I need another review on my account to get my jss back, but I have had only had 10 views on my profile for all of 2024. I had the availability badge activated and submitted a number of proposals that resulted in views. I feel like i've been shadow banned or something.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any advice besides getting a new client? I am curious if it is possible that i have been shadowbanned or something.

The community forums are filled with freelancers who have a similar story to tell. Even many Expert-Vetted freelancers have seen significant declines in invitations, proposals views, and profile views. Upwork has made several changes over the past year and those changes (mostly based on increasing revenue) continue to impact the quality of jobs and freelancer access to those jobs.
I'm not sure if I would call it a shadow ban; rather, it's the unpredictable nature of Upwork's algorithm and how it positions our profiles in search results, and our proposals in a client's lists of proposals. This hasn't affected all freelancers at the same time; it seems to happen in waves as some freelancers were affected 10 months ago, while others are just now seeing the decline.
Almost everyday, two or three freelancers post messages about the plummeting invitations, profile views and/or proposal views. Since most freelancers don't use these forums, it's likely 1,000 or more freelancers are having the same experience every week.

If it helps, I am exactly the example Clark is talking about. I've had a profile on Upwork for five years, am Expert Vetted, and have earned over $300K. I've always received a lot of requests, so I rarely send out proposals. Each year, I would only notice a slight drop in activity in July. However, since March 2024, I no longer receive invitations. Everything seems to have stopped, even though I have a 100% JSS and great feedback. I really cannot understand what has happened to Upwork.

Well, it's nice to hear I am not alone in this. I am still pretty bummed to see how Upwork is going about "rewarding" those who have committed a lot of time and effort into their platform. I suppose the best thing to do is to not rely on Upwork as the sole source of clients. Thanks for your replies!
