Promo code expired 3 days after recieving

Hi,

I recieved a promo code for a free month of freelancer plus after attending an online event. When I tried to enter the code, the screen returns "code expired" I recieved the code on December 23 and tried to enter on December 26. Do codes expire that quickly or is this a glitch?
