Proofreading

Good evening, 

I have some concerns about a job posting for proofreading. They have taken me from Upwork messages and we went to Skype to start an interview. From there I didn't think anything of it, but now they are offering to send me items to complete the job and now I have concerned. This conversation has been continuing for five days now.

It's one of the oldest scams on the net (fake check scam) and you have been violating Upwork's terms of service by communicating outside the platform before a contract was in place.

Essentially they want to send you a fake check and will be wanting you to then send real money to their "local vendor" (who is obviously themselves) before the fake check obviously bounces.
