Purchasing connects though primary billing method

I don't have sufficient connects and intend to purchase more connects. But I do not want to use my upwork earning to buy connects, rather I want to use my primary billing method. Last time, when I inteded to buy connects, upwork automatically deducted my earning and did not ask for the payment option. How to set up payment mode for purchasing connects? I want to use my priamry billing method (and not the earning) to buy connects. Please advise.

Bumping this because I have the same issue. I want to use the linked card to buy connects - I managed it last time but this time there was no prompt or option to choose, it just automatically took the amount out of my available earnings. Is there something I'm missing?
