Queries regarding Hourly Work

Hi,

I've a few questions regarding how the hourly job works on Upwork since I recently joined here and I'm in contact with a client (verified payment method and history of hires so he is genuine) who wants to hire me so I had few questions regarding this.

  • How do I know that I'm actually hired for this job? I see on my profile that I have '3 active candidacies' but nothing under 'My Jobs'. So do I need to explicitly ask him whether I'm hired or not as the client seems to be interviewing just me for this work.
  • The work is hourly based and do I need to discuss or fix the number of hours per week he wants me to work?
  • How do I register my working hours? Is there an app or just I need to note down the hours and inform the client?
  • How does the payment happen in this scenario? Do I get paid at the end of each week with the amount shown on my upwork account?

And I would be grateful to know other things I need to keep in mind for this assignment.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best Regards,

Varun

Varun,

You will be sent a job invite when you are hired. Don't start work until you receive the invite. He can set how many hours per week, but best to discuss with him how many hours.

You will want to use the Time Tracker to track your hours once hired and make sure to document good notes on what you are doing.

You can download the tracker at:

https://www.upwork.com/downloads

You will be paid after the review period. So the first week they will review it then you will be paid the following week.
