Query regarding payment protection

Hello

I am about to start a new project on Upwork in which the client said that he would pay me at the end of each week depending on the number of bugs discovered. So in a way this is neither a fixed price nor an hourly project.

My question is that what is the surety that client would definitely pay me at the end of each week as there is no money in Escrow nor there is any hourly protection.

Thanks

None.

The way to fix it is to decide on a "Dollar per X (number of bugs)" value and the client to fund it in Escrow.

So if every bug is worth (for example) $ 20 - a milestone could be 10 bugs = $ 200.

So the client can hire you on a fixed-rate contract and fund the amount for the first 10 bugs. Once you find the 10 bugs, you submit and the client releases it, then he funds the next milestone and so on.
