I added a couple of project catalogues when the programme was first announced, and haven't gotten a single nibble, which was exactly what I expected would happen in a Fiverr-style marketplace. But I decided to give it one more shot today, by coming up with a couple of offers that are purely for clients to sample my services and receive a consultation prior to committing to a larger project. I figure that if projects are shown from lowest to highest price, this is the only way that I'll ever be visible.
I've made it clear in the description that the price is for only one hour of my time and that there are zero revisions included. But I noticed that the following language is attached when a client views my projects:
Question - "What if I'm not happy with the work?"
Answer - "Christine gets paid when you approve the work. If you are dissatisfied, you can request a refund."
Um, no. My projects state that there are zero revisions included. Period. There should be no language implying that clients can request endless rounds of revisions until they're satisfied, or that a client can withhold their approval and not have to pay. I would like to request that Upwork review this and remove it from the project catalogues.

Similarly, I have a consultation project set eup, where they get 1 hour of my time 1:1 to advise on their project. I have gotten two inquiries, both have involved people basically wanting to ask me questions (consultation) for free.
The question you reference also concerns me, and likewise I have stated that no revisions are provided because the project is an hour of my time, 1:1, so they make ask questions about their project and get expert guidance in planning for their project.
I would also request that this language be removed from PC, as it's not accurate. Yes, sure, they can request a refund, but the request has no bearing on whether or not they'll get it, since that's up to the discretion of the freelancer.
Each freelancer will have a very different scope of work and policy on revisions. This kind of language almost encourages clients to be unreasonable or try and scam freelancers.

Exactly. I thought that the whole point of a project catalogue was to avoid scope creep - on both sides, not just in the client's favour - by only providing the deliverables that have been specified. Why are we even asked to state how many revisions are included, if the client can override this by claiming to be "dissatisfied"?

Talent and clients have the same Upwork Payment Protection with Project Catalog and if a dispute arises the process will be the same as with fixed-price contracts on Upwork. You can learn more here.
The issue is that the wording makes it sound like Upwork offers a money-back guarantee, which I don't think should be the case.

Frankly, I hate the idea of this project catalogue. It takes the uniqueness away from Upwork and makes this look like Fiverr. Hourly contracts will gradually be thrown in the mud, and this makes services cheap. I was away from upwork from some time, and decided to search for jobs.
Lo and behold in my category, I couldn't find new jobs. I could still find jobs posted as far back as 14 days ago. This wasn't the case some few months back. It seems upwork is giving more attention to the project catalogue of a thing, and this is killing the price of services, and making competition even stiffer. Clients no longer post jobs for freelancers to bid, and only those whose projects appear at the top will be seen faster. This is not a good omen.
Upwork should review this and promote the catalogue lesser. Let the hourly jobs appear in the clients' faces more. Don't just try to impress them with the catalogue, let them post jobs for people to bid. That way, freelancers can make more money, and those whose projects are not on the first page roles can also make money.
