Questions about an agency

Hello.

I’ve been working here on Upwork as individual freelancer for some amount of time (about year and a half).

Recently one of my friends asked me to join his agency.

But I have some doubts.

The main one - if I will join his agency how it will influence my current clients (with whom I did start cooperation while I was an individual freelancer)?

Will they still see me as an individual freelancer or from that point they’ll see me as a part of an agency?

Will I be able to proceed working as an individual freelancer apart from an agency?

If there are some helpful articles, please, let me know. Those that I did check didn't answer those questions.

Yes, you'll be able to work on Upwork independently and as part of an agency as a non-exclusive Agency member.

Yes, your current clients will see you as an Individual freelancer ( while it will shown your are associated with an agency on your profile)

Victor, personally I would think long and hard about this. You are successful as an individual freelancer with a great Upwork history. Even if you join your friend's agency as a non exclusive freelancer, you will show as an agency freelancer to any and all clients you apply to, even if you are not applying under the agency.

As so many clients won't touch any agency freelancers, you need to be sure that your friend's agency can supply you with as many or more jobs than you lose by being seen as an agency freelancer...

No, it won't affect your current / ongoing contracts, but would affect your future.

In my opinion you are almost certainly much better off staying independent!
