Questions: unable to change Email; Denial of posting to community; Profile Rejected

Hi,

I am new to Upwork, and was very excited to initiate my Profile.

Now I've run into some major issues which have prevented me from joining Upwork. And I could use your help.

Here are three Questions, related to - unable to change Email; Denial of posting to community; Profile Rejected.

I'll discuss each in turn and provide in more details as follows:

Firstly, I registered with an email address (Email #1). I verified it, created my glowing profile and then received a reply that my account/profile was rejected. So I changed my email address to another one (Email #2). Verified it and was able to login using Email #2. Then I resubmitted my profile for review. Now I keep receiving rejection emails to Email #1 solely. Nothing to my new email - Email #2.

My second issue is related to posting my questions here on the community. When I tried to post this question, using Email #2, "Access was Denied". I'm not sure why.

I had to open a second account just to post my questions here in the Community.

My third issue is related to rejection of my profile. I've completed my profile and completed all the fields - bank account, SSN, a detailed 100% profile, completed several tests (including Upwork), etc.

Yet each time, it has been rejected and I'm not sure why. The answer provided in the reply email (to Email #1 only) is the same generic one -

"As we do with everyone who wishes to join Upwork, we carefully reviewed your profile to determine whether there is sufficient need for your skills and experience in the marketplace. Unfortunately, at this time there are already many freelancers with a similar skillset to yours and we cannot accept your application."

My profile is 100% with lots of skills added. I have a Masters degree in engineering. And I heard Upwork's CEO on Bloomberg TV recently, who said that profiles of freelancers with master degrees is only ~30%. So I'm not sure what else that I have to do in order for my profile to be accepted.

I would appreciate it greatly if someone could please advise me on the above issues.

Thanks!

Hi M M!

At Up Work, email id & username never be change anytime after creation account. So this is not possible. You can also contact the support team.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. But I have already created two accounts - both verified - one is blocked (access denied to send a reply) and this one which I can post & reply to the community.

Kindly advise how to contact Support (on upwork.com), as I've navigated almost everywhere and can't seem to find how to do this. I can only find the Community and Help documentation but nothing about creating a ticket with Upwork's Support team.

Thanks!

Hi M M,

Please send me a PM by clicking on my name and kindly include your other account's email so I can check. Thank you!

According to Upwork's CEO 98% of all new applications are rejected.

Upwork is ***FULL***

There are already more freelancers than the site can sustain.

If that is the case, then why does Upwork continue to accept Freelancer applications?

Hi M M,

Actually, Up Work accept freelancer application to search the best one who is very competent in the market.

So, Don't worry. Keep Patient and try again after few days with some test.
