Refund and JSS

Hello everybody, I had a question related to a contract that I was hired recently.

I cant finish the job due to health issues and I want to give back to the client a full refund and i was wondering if that will affect my JSS. I really don't want to do that but I have no other choice at this moment. Can you please advise me what should I do?

Did you do part of the work? Is this part of any use to the client? Or will he have to start all over again with a different freelancer?

Depending on the circumstances, your client might be more or less unhappy about this. You can't control the feedback you get, but you can be most professional and deal with the specific situation and help the client as best as you can. 

I see no reason why you should refund completely, but I don't know the circumstances. In any case, the client can still leave bad private feedback, even if there was no money paid.

I'm sorry to learn that you've facing issues with your health. 

The client won't be able to leave a public review; however, it may still affect your job success score as a 'canceled contract' would count against your success score. 

At the moment, you can politely request your client to give you more time for the job completion as you're facing some health issue.

The refund will/would have no effect on your JSS, the client's feedback, if any, however would.
