Refund issue

The client is now requesting a 50% refund. After deducting Upwork fees, my total earnings amount to $409. How can I calculate the actual amount I'll be refunding, and what is the procedure for this? Should I transfer funds to PayPal first and then to Upwork to minimize unnecessary expenses? I'm unfamiliar with this process and seeking guidance

Hi Asad,

I would be happy to share more information. To issue a refund you need to follow the steps below. 

1. Go to My Jobs > All Contracts and click the contract title. If the contract has ended, select the Include closed contracts checkbox at the top of the page
2. Choose the Give a refund button from the (...) options menu
3. Choose the amount to be refunded and select Give Refund

You must issue all refunds within the Upwork platform. Refunding a client off of Upwork is against our Terms of Service. You can find more information in this help article.
