Refund

Hi there,

I have a very difficult client who is very confusing and provides very unclear instructions. I am working with them on a fixed-price contract with the funds currently held in escrow. What would be involved if I were to refund their amount and cancel their contract? 

Would that affect my job success score and would it appear on my profile?

If you closed the contract yourself you will be given the opportunity to refund all money in escrow. If this means you are paid zero for the contract because that is the only milestone, then the contract won't appear on your public profile page at all.

We previously were more concerned about zero pay contracts, but recent changes to JSS calculations mean that this should not negatively impact your JSS.

If you have a client who has confusing fixed-price instructions, then you should NOT be working for that client using a fixed-price contract. ONLY work with clients using hourly contracts if the instructions are confusing or subject to change.

Or don't work for such clients at all.

Only if the client leaves poor (private) feedback. Nothing appears on the profile
