Region preference by client is no longer optional

It seems regional preference on job posts are no longer optional. I was greeted with access denied message while trying to view a job post.

I don't know if it is good or bad. I have put my bid on projects preferring Ukranian freelancers and won before. But I think it is better for the clients to not see bids from other regions not in his preferred ones.

It should probably be optional for the clients not so sure and fixed for the rest of them though.

Hi Sunaram,

US-only jobs are available only for freelancers who are physically located in the US and can verify it. There are various reasons why a client would want to post a job with that requirement. Their projects may require localized knowledge, the possibility of on-site coordination, specific compliance needs or other factors that make working with someone within their country an easier way to get started on Upwork. Hope this helps.

It is also the DEFAULT setting for US clients and has to be manually changed to allow freelancers from other locations access to the job post...
