Rejoining the UpWork-force

I've been a freelancer on UpWork since it started with the letter "O" 😉 and I've seen many changes over the past couple of years.  Getting a gig used to be a breeze! A job was posted, I'd submit a simple proposal and that was it! I was in! However, we know how much the job environment or world has changed. Persons have honed their skills, new needs and wants have been created and people are now willing to work for little and nothing. Is the platform saturated? Or do we need to upskill? Do jobs need to be properly probed before allowing them to be posted? What can be done to enable persons rejoining the UpWork workforce to get the jobs they really want and be paid at a fair price?
