Report Scam Artist

Twice since I've been new to UpWork I have been contacted to email clients and establish communication via Google Hangouts for an interview.

Both times, these lead to scam offers seeking bank account information in order to receive "direct deposit" via their payroll.

How is Upwork working to protect freelancers from this?

How do we effectively report them if they are removing their job postings once they are confronted to become factual?

Moderator assistance is requested URGENTLY.

thank you,-LT

Hi Lincoln,

I`m sorry about the inconvenience this had caused you. You can share the job post's URL with us (moderators) via PM or use the flagging option on the job posts to report them. Our team will investigate it further and will take proper action immediately.

I would also suggest to check out this Post for more tips on how to avoid questionable jobs. Thank you.

They deleted the posting after I confronted them about the false post.

Can I report their email address?

please report the text where they ask you to meet outside upwork. they will be noticed and upwork team keep an eye on them. Also avoid working outside upwork on clients demand. your bank accounts are not safe there. since upwork provides complete account security, it is very safe working within the forum. i hope it helps
