Is it really necessary to send a Resume?
"Greetings we are looking forward to interview you for this job
please contact and send your resume to our hiring manager
Why can't the hiring manager contact me via Upwork messenger?
Should I Red Flag this or not?
I don't know who the client is, nor do I have an inkling as to their job description. However, why would you need to send a resume to a hiring manager? I believe Upwork states *I read it somewhere* that you are not encouraged to send out a resume. Besides, your profile IS kind of your resume. Besides, you work for yourself....
Would it be wrong for me to message the contact back...
"Please refer the hiring manger to my profile."
And if they do not accept that, then I should decline offer or should something like that be Red Flagged?
Open to suggestions...
UPDATE... UPDATE... UPDATE...
Sent following Message to client at 10:08am:
"Please refer your Hiring Manager to my Profile. All my resume information is included there."
12:48pm "Declined by client: Inappropriate Job Posting"
Almost expected the response anyway.
Was the client trying to hide something, by not going through Upwork?
To that I say... Oh Well.
As far as I understand (going through my proposal history and looking at the reasons for declines), "Inappropriate job posting" means that UpWork has closed the job for one reason or another - usually either because it is a scam, or because the client is caught hiring people outside of the platform.
