Rising Talent** - Yay!

I just checked my profile today for a completely unrelated reason and found out that I have been given a Rising Talent** badge! (Yay!) I thought I'd get an e-mail if this happened, though, and I didn't... So hmm. Not really a huge deal since I have been doing OK without it. Smiley Happy

 

Are there any real benefits to the Rising Talent** status?

 

edited to add - not sure why I thought it was "rising star" instead of "rising talent". Oops.

You should be receiving a mail from upwork.  I believe the benefits are the same for everyone.

This is from the mail I received last week:

 

  • A Rising Talent badge on your profile to help you stand out to clients in the marketplace 
  • Inclusion in a premium talent pool from which top clients source talent
  • A one-time bonus of 30 additional free Connects for you to submit more proposals to clients
  • Access to chat and ticket support from a specialized customer support team
  • Personalized profile help to effectively market your freelance services

Congrats Barbara! Any idea how you got the badge? It is well deserved I'm sure, but I understand it's sort of a test and only some people were chosen for it, so I was wondering how people that got it were included in the program?

The Rising Talent badge seems to be only for freelancers who don't have a JSS yet.

I got mine after I filled out my profile to 100% and set my availability to something other than "As needed open to offers". Probably to make it easier to get the first few jobs. If you look at the benefits, it's all set to cater new freelancers Smiley Happy

Rising Talent program is not just a test anymore. It's available for all eligible freelancers. See the update on Lena's original post here.

Does anyone know if/when the extra connects are awarded to 'Rising Talent' freelancers? I got the email last week and the badge a few days later but no extra connects yet.

 

They'd really come in handy!

I'm still waiting on my email... Which is sort of silly since I'll be getting the feedback that gives me a job success score either today or tomorrow.

Are you saying that you haven't gotten your connects either?! Please tell me that's not the case!

 

The only thing I haven't gone is the advice/tips from Upwork.

I got my connects (which aren't too terribly helpful either, I'll have to upgrade my membership to keep them as I've had a ton of work from repeat clients and invites) and my badge. Just nothing else.
