I really need/want to change the profile picture on my account but past experience with this process has been a nightmare for me. When I have changed it before my account got locked (couldn't apply for jobs). Attempted to go through standard process of video call but for some reason my camera has never been able to work through Upwork (although it works for Skype, Zoom, etc.). It resulted in multiple calls, frustration and a delay in my ability to apply for jobs.
Is there a way to send a picture first to someone in Upwork customer support so they can approve it in advance? I am too nervous to change it on my own at the moment as I don't want to get locked out again.
I would like some proactive option in this process if there is one available?

I don't have the answer, but one question: why would you want to change your picture? The one you have right now is cool and fits well with what you do.

Thank you Rene hope you are doing well. Well the main reason might sound silly to the non VO crowd but the wrong mic is showing in my profile pic...I have an updated one that I really like with the correct microphone. Cheers!

I'm not gonna to argue. I read enough forums where sound specialists would almost go into fist fights over mics, to keep at a safe distance from this topic 🙂

Thank you...the issue occurs during the verification process and has happened to me twice. Basically for some reason the video connection never works for me through Upwork (although works for Skype, Zoom, etc.). When this happens the person helping me on the phone basically is unable to help me as we cannot connect...and then my account is locked.
I don't dare risk changing it again (even though I need to) without fear of being locked out or spending hours on the phone trying to get someone to unlock my account.
Can I change my image without being locked out?

Bobby, I can't guarantee that a temporary hold wouldn't be placed on a freelancer's account if a picture is changed. The hold would only prevent the freelancer from sending new proposals. If you change the picture and run into any issues, please let us know and we'll assist you further. Thank you.

What kind of "tutor" are you talking about?
Have been trying to get a work on upwork but all to no avail.
You want to improve your profile overview and edit your portfolio items, way too many mistakes for a "writer".
