Scam and Fraud alert that is very frustrating.

Bidding on jobs is time consuming. When some entity keeps posting jobs that are clearly a scam...(Odd dollar amounts, one day of history, a .7z attachment), I keep flaging them but they come in waves and I am frustrated. Anyone else dealing with this?

I am agree with you, When I have time, I report , but it is good practice to use filter when you search job and Bid 2/3 weekly, Be patient and follow the guidelines

We always face some bad people or bad time, so just ignore them and be cool.

Gary, thanks for doing this volunteer work. If I come across something, I will flag it, but I'm not spending time looking for scams. That could be a full time job for someone.

Yes," jobs that are clearly a scam...(Odd dollar amounts, one day of history, a .7z attachment" frequently are not prevented from being posted and show up in our feeds and are not removed unless we flag them for Upwork to remove after the fact. But even when they are removed, they do show up again.

Hey Gary,

This has been going on for weeks. I posted 2 maybe 3 weeks ago about this very issue. They all have the same MO.... dollar amounts in the $400-600 range, weird file extension attachments, etc. Now, they're even showing up as Featured Jobs. Also, if you dig a little deeper you'll notice that some of these jobs also have scam freelancer reviews (they're creating fake freelancer profiles to leave fake reviews to make their account look more legit.) I've literally contacted support and given them detailed info and examples. Still, nothing has been done. Just today there are at least 10 posts like this in a small range of jobs listed. It absolutely needs to be addressed.

Thank you for doing your part to alert Upwork to this problem.

You're right on Nicholas! You would think if they really wanted to stop this they could. I just want to work.

Hi everyone, new here. I got a message with a zip PDF and I'm not sure about opening it, feels spamish? Any suggestions before I go further.

Hi Bianca, It sounds like a SCAM to me. Trust your instincts and remember to  flag anything that you think maybe dodgy.

Hi Bianca, No worry, You may open, Before opening or working with a client, try to study a client by checking at least payment method verified and it's location. Best of Luck!

I am new and haven't got any work yet . Have only received two messages and the first one was very "Kindly" ovious.  Just received my second message and it seams really fishy. The ad was for Fashion e-commerce but the message says its an IT marketing company and wanting to link up with SKYPE  SKYPE???  . Part of me needs it to be real but can't do it.  I did report it.
