A client sent me a interview request. He said:
"if chosen we would be sending you $100 USD worth of free habibi coins and sign an MOU agreement for freelance work as needed."
this would be my first job in Upwork, but I'm not sure if it is a real offer or just a Scam.
Solved! Go to Solution.

Hi Guilherme,
Thank you for contacting us. Please refer to advice Nichola and Janean have shared with you. We have escalated your report and our team will investigate it further. Also, check these safety tips and report if you receive any of the offers mentioned in the thread, which are in violation of Upwork ToS. Any requesting of free work is not allowed on Upwork, and it is ToS violation. Afterwards, if you have any questions feel free to follow up in the Community and we'll gladly help you with them.

It is a scam, and do you seriously think that some stranger is going to send you real money? 😉 Flag the job and move on.
One of Upwork's most sacred rules is that you do not accept any form of payment outside the platform. Even talking about it with a client could get your account suspended. Before bidding on any more jobs or accepting invitations read everything + all the links in this thread particularly "Tips to avoid questionable jobs". https://community.upwork.com/t5/New-to-Upwork/Getting-Started-on-Upwork/m-p/264214#M2460

"Habibi Coin aims to be the Middle Eastern version of bitcoin."
That is definitely a scam.

This seems like one of those "If you have to ask.... you already know" situations.

There are lots of clients who do this. It's prohibited by Upwork so report/flag them and obviously don't sell them your account.
